If you want to start a successful business on on-line that’s quick and easy. You need to find the best selling items on eBay and then profit from other people’s mistakes.
This sounds terrible doesn’t it? Profiting from other people’s mistakes. However, this is something countless people just like you are doing around the world and making full time incomes out of it.
Let me show you a strategy that just works, plain and simple:
1. Head over to eBay pulse and find the most searched for items in each category. This smart little tool also shows you the most popular stores for each category too if you wanted to reverse engineer any of them to find out what they’re doing. I digress.
2. Click on the category drop down list and we’ll use an example. Let’s use “clothing, shoes & accessories” the ladies favorite and we’re presented with a list like this:

10. Coach Handbags
I’ll think you’ll agree that this is quite a generic list and far too general. Click on the drop down menu again and we’ll choose “women’s handbags & bags” category. This is the list:
4. Marc Jacobs
6. Juicy Couture
10. Kate Spade
Do you notice #6 Juicy Couture? This looks like a nice niche item with tons of popular searches for it. Click on the Juicy Couture link and we’ll be taken over to the live auction for these items.
Now, to find the best selling items on eBay for this category we need to click on the “completed listings” tab. Note: you’ll need to be logged in to use this function. Congratulate yourself, you’ve now got a list of the best selling items by date, time and price sold.
What Can You Do With This Information?
Simply use the “swipe and list method” which is the technique of bidding and purchasing items quite late at night or in the early hours of the morning when there’s little competition. Trust me here, you can get items as cheap as 40-50% lower than what they should sell for if you know what you’re doing. This is simple buy low and sell high stuff.
Simply re-list the item once you’ve received delivery and make sure you end the auction on a Sunday evening which statistically is the time where you get the most bids.
If you’re in a niche where it’s still quite competitive and there are lost of similar items, I’d start the bidding really low, say $1 and list the item on either 7 -10 auction. By the time it comes to the last day, you’ll have plenty of bids and people will be attracted to your auction like flies on (sheep). This is a a nice little technique I use to gather lots of interest.
What also happens is eBay will complete the automated task of emailing each potential buyer on a regular basis telling them to up their bids. Quite nice to have a helping hand from eBay I think.
